Good team work is vital when creating a webpage with a group no matter how large or small.
When designing the interaction between pages, make it simple and fast for visitors to find what they are looking for. Keep the pages simple and uncluttered, expesially the Home page for easy reading and taking in the information.
A plain, simple background often looks good with a colourfull foreground.
Do not go overboard with colours and animations. The worst thing you want when browsing a webpage is when everything is moving in cycadellic colours.
Decide on one or two styles for the site and stick to it. It looks a lot better than having every page designed completly different.
Get people involved, in a competition ask the state coordinators questions and any tips they ight have (we kindly got a reply that out state co-ordinator could not give us hints about the site before the closing date but at least they now you are participating)
Only include pictures, movies and sounds that are relevent to the subject.
Not everyone has high speed Internet connections. Make every effort to keep the files small so as to view them faster.
Remember. With millions of websites on the Internet, you need to advertise your page. Submit your page to the most uesd search engines so people can find your site. This site has been submitted to Lycos, Excite, Altavista, Yahoo, Webcrawler and Infoseek.
